About Hendon Playgroup

Welcome to Hendon Playgroup, an SCA registered haven for young children. We provide a warm and caring gan for children aged 18 months and upwards. You can claim 30 free hours of childcare and watch your child thrive in our small and friendly playgroup.- We serve hot lunches.

Meet Chaya Levy

Head of Playgroup

Chaya has been dedicated to working with children for over 20 years and holds a Level 3 Certificate in Childcare. Throughout her career, she has gained invaluable experience in various childcare settings, ranging from nurseries to early education programmess. Drawing on her extensive knowledge and passion for nurturing young minds, Chaya now offers a warm, home-to-home care environment designed to help children thrive and reach their full potential. Her setting provides a safe, nurturing space where children can explore, learn, and grow in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. By focusing on each child’s unique needs and interests, Chaya creates a personalised approach to care and learning, ensuring every child feels valued and supported on their journey.

Hendon Playgroup is the only place I would send my children to for pre-nursery. The love and care shown to each child is truly amazing. When my daughter needed extra support, we had a meeting to discuss how best to help her, and it made such a difference. All the extra fun activities the children get to experience are an added bonus. Just a quick note to say how sad we are that the year is ending already. Our daughter has had the most incredible time. You go above and beyond in every task. Creating a fun, safe, happy, educational, free play environment. You've done so much creative / sensory play, so much music and taught them so so much. Your playgroup always has a joyful atmosphere. Reflecting back on this past year, I cannot quite believe where the time has gone. Since our child has joined with you, we have seen her grow so beautifully and learn so much. Your teaching and patience is the best we could have ever asked for, from all the things you cover and then go back and relay to us for us to continue learning with her to even the more basic things like always keeping her clean and happy which at this age is difficult. Whenever you have had concerns you have always communicated with us and kept us posted if she wasn’t herself or anything and you have always picked up on this due to the warm and caring environment you nurture at playgroup. Not only we are so grateful but from the little age of 2, you can see how she loves every single day as she waits eagerly by the door and says I want to go to my Chaya, even on weekends! Thank you for all the love, support and education you have given this past year to our little one, we are so grateful.
